The key to success and failure is one and the same. It takes a routine to build something up, and a routine to tear something down. With our lives the key to success is discipline. When I was younger I worked overnight at Home depot. I would work from 9pm-6am Monday-Friday. I would come home and crash on the futon in my parents basement. My father would wake me up at 10am and say “You can’t be successful if you sleep past 10am no matter what time you go to sleep”. I never understood his logic because to me if I am going to bed at 7am I should get at least 6 hours of sleep. I now understand what he was telling me.
You can’t expect a higher level of success if you sleep more than or the same as everyone else. My professional success comes easier when my daily routine starts earlier. Its obviously not the only key to success, but the discipline in a daily routine that starts before the sun rises is normally the first step to a successful journey.
